The Arcandor Group will publish its provisional figures for the short fiscal year 2007 on December 18, 2007. Arcandor's management had already announced in its interim report as at June 30, 2007 that it was forecasting good business performance for the third quarter. This assessment has been confirmed by the information now available on the third quarter. The Primondo business unit will report sales growth in the third quarter of 2007; the increase in sales has improved significantly as against the second quarter. Primondo’s earnings performance is much better than planned. On top of that the consolidation of HSE24 will have a positive impact on sales and earnings.

Overall, the management board of Arcandor expect operating earnings to be significantly higher than previous year.

Fiscal 2007 is a short fiscal year for the Arcandor Group. It extends from January 1 to September 30, 2007. The listed Thomas Cook Group plc, whose fiscal year runs from November 1, 2006 to October 31, 2007 will be included for twelve months. In future, Thomas Cook Group plc will change its fiscal year to match that of the Arcandor Group.
